Crossing of the River
Two sons, two daughters, one mother, one father, one kender, and one Solomnic Knight need help crossing the river.
How can it be done?
The following rules apply:
- Only 2 persons on the raft at a time
- The father can not stay with any of the daughters, without their mother's presence
- The mother can not stay with any of the sons, without their father's presence
- The kender can not stay with any family member, if the Solomnic Knight is not there
- Only the Father, the Mother and the Solomnic know how to operate the raft
Email me your answers before tomorrow's session for a 300 XP bonus.

Clarification of Rules
- Leveling an Animal Companion: According to the Players Handbook, page 35,
"As a druid advances in level, the animal's power increases as shown on the table in the sidebar."
The side bar, listed on the next page, shows that from level 1 to level 2, the animal companion stays the same as a +0 Bonus HD, +0 Natural Armour Adjustment, +0 Strength/Dexterity adjustment, and 1 bonus trick. When the druid reaches 3rd level, the animal companion also reaches 3rd level. At that time, the companion gains a +2 Bonus HD, +2 Natural Armour Adjustment, +1 Strength/Dexterity adjustment, and 2 bonus tricks. Plus, the animal companion gains the feat Evasion. The animal companion remains at this level until the druid reaches 6th level. Experience points are not shared with the animal companion as the party earns them.
- Readying an Action: You can ready a standard action, a move action, or a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. To do so, state what you are going to do, and what will prompt you to do it. Then, any time before your next turn you may take the readied action in response to that condition. According to the Players Handbook, page 160, the readied action occurs before the action that triggered it. In addition, your initiative order changes. If you went first in a round of combat and ready an action, if the event occurs that triggers the action happens when the fifth person/monster moves, your initiative is dropped down to fifth place. You cannot retain the first to act when a new round starts. In the event the readied action does not occur, you retain the original initiative order and may ready an action again.
- Delaying an Action: When you Delay an action, you change positions in the initiative order. You can Delay your turn until a player moves or acts, and then take your turn as normal. At the start of the next round, you begin at the new initiative position. The difference between Delaying an action and Readying an action is that you can change positions in the order again.
