Prologue:

Twelve gods.  That’s how many there were.  Making their presence known among the sky.  Three moons, and a sky filled with constellations.  Then during the Chaos War, a particular Goddess decided to steal away the world under the noses of everyone else.  When She was successful, the habitants of Krynn saw the world no more for what they were familiar with.  Instead of three moons, there was only one.  Instead of the familiar constellations in the sky, there were none.  Thus began the Age of Mortals.

The Dragons of Krynn were met with strange Dragons they never knew.  Dragon fought Dragon, until only the most powerful dragons remained.  This battle was known as the Dragon Purge.

The people of Krynn were lost and confused.  What happened to the stars?  What happened to the moons?  What happened to the magic that was so familiar among the mages, and the healing powers granted by the Gods for healing?  Prayers went unanswered.  Magic drained away.  The Elves of Silvanesti put up a shield to prevent anyone from ever coming in, and no one ever to leave, in hopes that they would be safe from the strange magic draining.  They were wrong.

One day, a young girl named Mina crossed Ansalon.  She went from lost soul to lost soul claiming she had found the Gods again—only this time, it was One God.  She asked the people she met to pledge their faith to the One God, and broken arms would be healed, the sick become no more.  Only Goldmoon, one of the original Heroes of the Lance saw into the trickery.  She pleaded with Mina to see the light.  This was no great God—this was Takhisis up to her usual good-for-no-kind plans!  Mina would not listen.  Thus started the War of Souls.

With Mina as their leader, the Silvanesti Shield was broken and Silvanesti was taken over by minotaurs.  The great Cyan Bloodbane was killed.  Silvanoshei, heir to both Silvanesti and Qualinesti, helped lead the troubled elves to safety.  With the help of the time-travelling kender Tasselhoff, the other Gods were led to the new world where Takhisis brought Krynn and punished Takhisis.  They made her a mortal to roam the lands of Krynn.  Soon after she was mortalized, she was killed.  Paladine, head of the Gods of Good, chose to become mortal, taking up the form of an elf, to put balance back into the world.  As far as everyone knows, he continues to walk the lands of Krynn.  Now, there are ten gods.

It’s been six months since the War of Souls ended.  Six months since the Gods have returned.  Those who embraced the new Power of the Heart that was discovered by Goldmoon had the choice of staying a Mystic or embrace the power of the Cleric once again.  Those who worshipped Paladine or Takhisis had to find another God to worship.  The sky filled with all three moons once again, and those that turned to primal sorcery during the absence of the Gods could continue or look upon the Magic of Old once again.  The few who never gave up their worship of the Gods were justly rewarded.

While the world is still adjusting to the death of three Dragon Overlords and the return of the gods, Krynn is looking for heroes to rise once again.

Pashin. One of the few permanent settlements in Khur.  It is a major trading center for the Khur nomads and the ogres of Blöde. It has survived raids, wars, floods, famines, and two Cataclysms. It has been a haven for criminals, a major outpost for the Green Dragonarmies during the War of the Lance, and now serves as the last bastion of Dark Knights who occupied Silvanesti during the War of the Souls. It borders ogre lands and the newly minotaur-occupied Silvanesti forest. The people of Pashin comes from all walks of life, drawn to the neutral haven that Pashin represents, where few questions are ever asked and the only real law is “the strong survive, but the sly thrive.”

Who will rise to the call this time?
